Biographical / Historical Information: Terry Joe Curtis was born on September 24th, 1952, in Lewisburg KY, the son of Elvis and Agnes Curtis. Terry started at MSU in 1970, studying computer drafting and photography. At Murray State, he met his wife, Anita. The two got married in 1973 and had two children together, Terry's early career began at PSR doing computer drafting. Later, he worked as a cabinet builder at Mohan International in Paris, TN. Unfortunately, Terry had to retire early due to disability with muscular dystrophy. Throughout his life, Terry was an avid fan of Racer athletics. He rarely missed a home football or basketball game and often traveled to many away games. He died on January 7th, 2025, in Murray, KY.
Scope and Content: Collection consists of photographs and memorabilia that reflect Mr. Curtis’s involvement with Murray State University. Photographs detail Lowry Center, the building of Racer Arena, aerial views of residential colleges, and a college dorm room. Also included are souvenirs from Murray State games and a varsity jacket.
