Biographical / Historical Information: The International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers was organized by the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1949 and continues to be active. The Paducah chapter, however, no longer exists.
Scope and Content: Collection consists of correspondence, attorney notes and legal documents related to discrimination cases filed by the International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers, Local 791 of Paducah, Kentucky on behalf of its members from 1959 to 1962. The contents of the correspondence and legal documents state that members of the union were discriminated against during the hiring process by the Central Telephone Supply Company of Paducah.
