Biographical / Historical Information: Brikcrete Associates of Holland, Michigan franchised the West KY Brikcrete Company to operate in Calloway, Graves, and Marshall counties in September, 1948. The founding owners were H. Fred Collie, E. V. Wilson Gantt, and Oran Wells. Mr. Wells sold his interest in 1952 and returned to Michigan. In the early years of the business, it was a "lock and key" construction company. In 1957, Wilson Gantt accepted a teaching position at Murray Training School. From that time until the close of business in 1965, the business was limited to the manufacture of the Brikcrete product.
Scope and Content: This collection consists of advertising bulletins, correspondence, lab reports, blueprints, and financial transactions from the West Kentucky Brikcrete Company.
