Biographical / Historical Information: He was born and grew to adulthood on a bobacco farm in the Bethel Church community near Cadiz, Trigg County, Kentucky. His ancestral roos in the county go back 225 years. In education and philosophy of life, he likes to think that he is what during the Renaissance was colled a uomo universale; a man who is learned and skillful in many arts and sciences, and who has had a wide range of life experiences. He is a 1977 graduate of Trigg County High School. He has a bachelor;s degree in Geosciences and Archaeology and master of arts in U.S. History from Murray State University and Ph.D. in World History from Kansas State University. He came to academia after a 22-year career buying, processing and experting leaf tobacco to more than twenty countries. 

Scope and Content: This collection consists of two slightly different copies of his book about tobacco, "Smoky Black Gold" and a jum/USB drive.
