Biographical / Historical Information: The Paducah Central Labor Union of Paducah, Kentucky was chartered in 1892 to unionize craftsmen in the city. The union became a member of the American Federation of Labor on July 10, 1942. The Paducah Central Labor Union became the Paducah Central Labor Council when the American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations merged in 1955. The union is presently called the Western Kentucky Central Labor Union.
Scope and Content: Collection consists of correspondence and meeting minutes of the Paducah Central Labor Union of Paducah, Kentucky from 1942 to 1953. Included with the records are charter resolutions, lists of delegates, financial statements and miscellaneous documents related to the activities of the Paducah Central Labor Union during the 1940s and 1950s.
