Scope and Content: Collection consists of a typescript manuscript by Lemah S. James on the life of Ollie M. James. Included with the manuscript are handwritten research notes, published Congressional Records from 1911, a file folder on the Thomas H. Paynter tariff and photographs of Senator James. The manuscript later became a significant part of a publication titled Pennyrile Portrait: The life and times of a Kentucky Squire. Note of interest, numerous pages are out of order and some chapters remain incomplete.
