Abstract: John Burd discusses his activities as a moonshine runner during the prohibition era in Graves and Trigg Counties, Kentucky.

Biographical / Historical note: John Burd was born in Graves County, Kentucky in 1905. He and his brother, Eddie Burd, were associated with distilling whisky during the prohibition era. During his youth he had learned the method to produce and sell moonshine. After his brother was shot and killed near Dublin, Kentucky in 1926, he made regular trips to the Land Between the Lakes to obtain drinking whiskey.
