Abstract: Sadie Harrell discusses her knowledge of one room schools in both Stewart County, Tennessee and Trigg County, Kentucky. She relates her experiences in the school system from the time of her attendance until the end of her teaching career. She also describes her experiences in the boating and motel business that she and her husband operated.

Biographical / Historical note: Sadie Harrell was a resident of the Land Between the Lakes region from her birth in Stewart County, Tennessee in 1898 until her and husband's displacement in 1965. She went to school in Rushing Creek in Stewart County and to high school at Model. She taught at Rushing Creek and Ginger Creek in Stewart County.
