Abstract: Beulah Ryan discusses life on the farm in the Land Between the Lakes Region of Kentucky. Her recollections go back to before the turn of the 20th Century. She describes her early childhood, Saturday and Sunday worship services and her salvation experiences. She also recalls the organization of the Golden Pond Baptist Church in Trigg County and Hopewell Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Biographical / Historical note: Beulah Ryan was born in 1893 on a farm near the Cumberland River. Her family relocated to the Land Between the Lakes region in 1904. She resided at Golden Pond until her marriage in 1912. She was a member of the Golden Pond Baptist Church, which her father helped found in 1905. Ryan was an active member of the church where she was a Sunday school teacher and played the piano during services.
