Abstract: Ross Buchanan discusses growing up in Union County, Kentucky during the early half of the 20th century. He describes his close friendship with Earle C. Clements and the impact he had on Clements' career in politics.
Biographical / Historical note: Ross Buchanan was born about 1896 and attended public schools in Union County, Kentucky. He attended Morganfield High School and played on the varsity football team. In 1918, he enlisted in the United States Army and was discharge after the conclusion of the First World War in 1919.
