Abstract: Anna Grace Howard discusses her career at the Ken-Rad Tube Manufacturing Corporation during the 1940s. She describes experiences working in a vacuum tube manufacturing plant during the Second World War. She also mentions the influence of labor unions and the changes that occurred when Ken-Rad was acquired by the General Electric Company in 1952.
Biographical / Historical note: Anna Grace Howard worked periodically for the Ken-Rad Tube Manufacturing Corporation and the General Electric Company in Owensboro, Kentucky during the 1940s and 1950s. She was one of thirteen children. She worked at Ken-Rad at the age of sixteen in 1941.
