Historical Information: The Office of Dean of Libraries was established in 1970 as the Director of Libraries from the previous job title of Head Librarian. The title changed to the Office of Dean of Libraries in 1978.
Scope and Content: Collection consists of correspondence and inter-departmental memos retained by the Office of the Dean of Library Services at Murray State University from 1973 to 1993. The bulk of the papers are letters between the Dean of Libraries and campus administrators, such as vice presidents from various offices, the provost and the president of the university. Included with the papers is correspondence from faculty and staff, library program and project reports and a quality enhancement plan for 2004.
