Historical Information: The first Homecoming event at Murray State University was held on October 27, 1933, which simply was a picnic and football game the following day. Due to the Second World War, Homecoming was canceled in 1943 and 1944. The event has been sponsored by the Alumni Affairs Office since the late 1940s and continues to the present day with numerous activities held on campus and nearby community.
Scope and Content: Collection consists of program announcements, event schedules, newspaper clippings and other ephemeral materials associated with Homecoming activities sponsored by the Alumni Affairs Office at Murray State University from 1933 to the present.
