Racer Writing Center

We now offer online consultations by appointment only. We will work with you synchronously through Google Drive and by phone or chat, or by email, with feedback via comments using Word.

• For online consultations, you will still need to make an appointment with us indicating in the notes that you would like an online consultation and specifying the format you prefer. 
• Be sure that you have emailed us your paper (msu.racerwritingcenter@murraystate.edu) or shared your document with us on Drive before the start of your appointment, and be sure to call, or be ready to chat, at the start of your appointment. We cannot start the consultation without the student present in some way.
• Like our in-person consultations, we offer 40-45 minute sessions with a scheduled appointment. 
• Whether in person or online, students can make only two appointments per week, one appointment per day.  
• Remember, appointments are limited. We suggest you book your appointments at least a week ahead.

• Upload your word document to your Google Drive account
• Open your document with Google Docs. This will convert your document to a Google doc.
• Share your document with us. When you have your document open as a Google doc, you will see, in the top right corner of the screen, an option to share. Click the button, and you will be asked to enter the email address of the person you want to share your doc with. Enter the Racer Writing Center email address: msu.racerwritingcenter@murraystate.edu.
• Hang out if you will be participating via chat; a Writing Center consultant will join you at your appointment time. Or give us a call if you’d rather communicate via voice, or if you have more questions about sharing your document, at 270-809--2267 or 270-809-4767.
